Classic meets Luxurious
You may know Grace and Jolly from their pre-wedding photo shoot. They wanted me to capture the blissful moments of their wedding day, held at the Aberdeen Marina Club. The weather was beautiful, the yacht oozed luxury and the couple was feeling emotional.
Sisterhood matters
Being highly family-oriented, Grace was keen for photos that reflected the strong bond she shared with her sisters and best friends. The genuine affection and excitement on all the stunning women’s faces made it a breeze to click heart-warming photos. Grace’s handsome dad showed off his sculpted profile, while I also captured a few of the bride with her parents.
Inseparable
Grace and Jolly opted for a traditional Chinese wedding. The bride looked lovely in the traditional qun kwa embroidered with delicate, colourful motifs. Did you know that eight out of ten Chinese brides prefer to wear the kwa for their tea ceremony? Grace’s featured a peacock motif that stood strikingly against the red kwa, with the colour symbolising luck and happiness. Bride and groom came together for a few snaps, their eyes never leaving each other and Grace lighting up each shot with her spectacular smile!
Lilac and peaches by the marina
I am referring to the feminine shades of the gowns worn by the pretty bridesmaids, setting off nicely against Grace’s wedding bouquet. The bride looked ethereal in an intricate yet classic gown, while the groom also played by the ‘rules of colour’ by sporting a light peachy bow tie. The party had started and the marina was awash by the love and togetherness of the beautiful couple and their loved ones!
Special moments
The key to top-quality Hong Kong wedding photography is to never miss out on the best moments of the special day. For the photographer, that means staying sharp and light on his/her feet. I captured one of Grace grinning shyly – can you guess what’s on her mind and what could have possibly elicited that emotion? There is also an artistic one of Grace leaning into Jolly at the banquet table – yes, he is legally hers now!
The first dance
During the first dance at any wedding, there is not a dry eye in the room. This is when the couple sways into their new life together, and Grace and Jolly sure knew what they were doing on the dance floor. Grace continued her winning fashion streak with a slinky silver gown while Jolly looked every bit the gentleman ready to whisk his wife off after a night of celebration. Here’s wishing Grace and Jolly a wonderful married life!
